8 December, from 10 to 18 special guided tours are organized to the crypt of the Sanctuary of the Sacro Monte. Here, in fact, a perfectly legible and vividly colored representation of the nativity is kept, inspired by the apocryphal gospels. The crypt, which runs below the right aisle of the Sanctuary, has been the subject of recent archaeological research which has made it possible to reconstruct its history. The representation of the nativity is inserted in an entirely frescoed environment where visitors wanted to leave traces of their passage with a series of graffiti.
