The Consorzio Qualità Miele Varesino (Varese Honey Quality Consortium) was established in 1986 and since the beginning of its activity, it has aimed to characterise and promote the quality of the honey produced in the Varese area by its member companies, monitoring and guaranteeing all the fundamental characteristics of the product through brands and seals of guarantee.

Varese beekeeping represents one of the leading sectors of provincial agriculture; the consortium safeguards the quality of the production of wildflower, chestnut and acacia honey. Over the years, thanks also to the support of the Varese Chamber of Commerce, the Consorzio Qualità Miele Varesino has obtained the prestigious D.O.P. recognition for acacia honey, conferring a high and internationally protected quality.

The producers currently enrolled in the consortium actively participate in numerous activities to promote and sell their products: festivals and fairs are constant appointments, but these are complemented by other important sporting initiatives in the area such as the 3Valli Varesine, the Granfondo di Ciclismo, Openwater Tour, as well as other important events such as Agrivarese.

The Consortium also proposes itself for educational activities with schoolchildren or for taste itineraries proposing tasting guides.
