The Olona-Lura cycle path is a larger project that connects the valleys of the rivers Olona and Lura, creating a green network that touches several provinces of Lombardy. Currently already accessible on some stretches, the cycle path aims to become a regional cycle route. Connects towns, local parks, historical trails and sections already established as the track of Olona valley or that of the Villoresi Canal.
The cycle path of the Villoresi Canal follows the ancient irrigation canal built at the end of the 19th century, crossing rural environments, open countryside and small towns. It begins at the Panperduto dam and continues eastwards, lapping the province of Milan, finally reaching Groppello sull'Adda. The route of 86km is linear, flat, ideal for quiet rides and suitable even for those with little experience.

The Ticino Cycle Route is divided into five main stages along a route of about 98 km: from Sesto Calende to the Panperduto dams it follows the river in a wooded valley and then, up to Nosate, runs along the Industrial Canal with its hydraulic works. From Nosate to Abbiategrasso you proceed along the Naviglio Grande between historic villas and typical landscapes to then reach Bereguardo where you cross countryside reclaimed by Cistercian monks, with the possibility of visiting the Morimondo Abbey. Finally, from Bereguardo to Pavia you pass the Ticino on the Ponte di Barche and continue reaching Pavia at the Ponte Coperto.
The Lanza Valley Park is home to a 7 km pedestrian bike path in expansion, between Malnate and the Swiss border. The track follows the river Lanza and the former railway line that served the valleys. It is an ideal track for those looking for a quiet and immersive experience, perfect for walkers, families and cyclists on light MTB
The cycle path of Boesio connects Cittiglio to Laveno Mombello following the homonymous stream. It is a short route, about 4km, but very pleasant. The Valganna bike path is a fascinating 12km route that connects Italy and Switzerland following Lake Ghirla and Lake Lugano, retracing the track of an ancient tram that connected Varese to Ponte Tresa. Starting from the church of Ganna, it crosses the green Valganna with a path mostly flat and shaded, skirting lakes and small historic villages. After a short stretch on secondary roads, you enter the picturesque section of the former tram to Lavena-Ponte Tresa, near the Swiss border. Continuing towards Caslano, you can walk along the promontory of the lake. The route offers natural and cultural beauties, with stops such as the Badia di San Gemolo, the Maglio di Ghirla and the Parco dell'Argentera, making it ideal for those who love history and nature.
The cycle path of Valcuvia starts from Cuveglio and reaches Luino. It is a route entirely dedicated to bicycles and pedestrians. It develops on a 14km flat route entirely on asphalt and concrete. The route is easy, suitable for the whole family. To report also 3/4 passes of attravesamento to the road headquarters, but regulated by traffic lights and excellent signaling. Small and characteristic underpasses are present on the route for greater safety, avoiding further crossings to the road headquarters.
The bike path is developed for a large part along a tree-lined avenue, which allows even in the hottest days to pedal for much of the time in the shade, or to take shelter in case of sudden summer downpours.
The Via Francisca of Lucomagno is a fascinating route of about 510 km that connects Costanza to Pavia, crossing Switzerland and Lombardy. 62 km in the province of Varese, divided into six stages that touch places rich in history and nature, including Ganna and the Badia di San Gemolo, Varese and its Sacro Monte, the ancient village of Castiglione Olona, the Monastery of Torba (UNESCO heritage), to Castellanza and Castelletto di Cuggiono before continuing towards Pavia and the connection with the Via Francigena. The route is suitable for cycling all year round, mostly on dirt roads, paths and paved sections with low traffic, signposted and also suitable for people with reduced mobility.
