In November and December 2021, appointments are scheduled in the village of Castiglione Olona.

Here are the events:

• From Sunday 19 September and every 3rd Sunday of each month in the historic center from 9.00 to 19.00, the "Artist's Market" will be held; the "Artists" market will be added to the traditional antiques market..

The appointment, sponsored by the Municipality, is proposed by the Kubeart artistic group, directed by Emiliana Longoni, which already collaborates in the initiatives organized in the area.

Painters, sculptors, photographers of every school and trend will be invited to exhibit in the central Piazza Garibaldi and in the adjacent streets, to remember how the boot is a land of artists.

An initiative valid for attracting collectors and art lovers from other nations as well, in a unique and evocative setting such as Castiglione Olona represents and can be defined as a real "open-air museum".

• From Saturday 23 October to Sunday 21 November 2021: photo exhibition "INCANTI DELLA NATURA" by Armando Bottelli: it is a photographic journey in which the nature of the province of Varese is told, from the Ticino Park to the Campo dei Fiori, passing through the Park Rile Tenore Olona, with the intention of transmitting to the observer even a small part of the emotions that the photographer feels in freezing the images of those moments, while he is immortalizing a deer in a wood at dawn or capturing the vibrations of sounds in the silence of the night waiting to photograph nocturnal animals.

Admission: € 3.00, reduced € 2.00, ticket also valid for the Plastic Art Museum - Tuesday to Saturday from 9.00-12.00 and 3.00-6.00 pm, Sunday from 3.00-6.00 pm and Sunday 7 November, on the occasion of the Cardinal's Fair, 10.30 -12.30 and 3.00-6.00 pm.

• Friday 12 November 2021 at 8.45 pm: presentation of the book "The Stones of Memory - Gunter Deming and the stumbling blocks" - meeting with the authors Francesca Druetti and Benedetta Rinaldi at the Civic Library of Castiglione Olona.

The two young authors will present the work of the artist Gunter Demnig, who laid his first stumbling block in Cologne in the 1990s in memory of the victims of Nazi-fascism.

Free admission with Green Pass.

• From Saturday 13 to Sunday 21 November 2021 at 3.00 pm: personal exhibition "I Fiori dell'Eden" by Darena in the historic center at the former Council Chamber.

Event organized by Kubeart Artistic Association and presented by Sergio Bevilacqua. During the inauguration, Professor Sergio Bevilacqua, founder of Organalitic Sociatry, presents and illustrates "In morte d'Orfeo", IBUC editions, a precious little artist's book that prints 8 splendid iconographies by Darena, linked to the original text of which complete the meaning.

Free admission, only allowed with Green Pass.

• Saturday, November 20, 2021: on the occasion of the "International Day for the Rights of Children and Adolescents", the 8th edition of the "Children's Day" will be held at the Castle of Monteruzzo.

An afternoon entirely dedicated to children to reflect on children's rights through meetings, games, creative workshops, dances and lots of fun. involves about twenty local associations and institutions that will animate the halls and courtyard of the historic Castle from 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm with activities aimed at children of all ages and their parents ... without forgetting the inevitable break for a snack!

The event, promoted and sponsored by the Municipality of Castiglione Olona - Department of Social Policies and Education. 

All activities are free.

• Registration for the "Competition Presepi 2021" will be open until Friday 3 December - the exhibition will be held from Wednesday 8 December to Thursday 6 January 2022.

On the occasion of the Christmas period, the Municipality of Castiglione Olona and the "Mazzucchelli" Elderly Day Center in collaboration with the Parish of Castiglione Olona, I.C. Cardinal Branda Castiglioni, Pro Loco Castiglione Olona and the Masolino da Panicale Cultural Association organize the 2021 edition of the Nativity Scene Competition, aimed at all those who want to try their hand at creating an artifact that represents the tradition of the nativity scene interpreted through an art form of their choice.
