Mount San Giacomo (427m), the highest point of the Ticino Park, is covered with woods of Scotch pines, chestnut trees, has a rich undergrowth and a rich variety of fauna: you can meet squirrels and salamanders, which reproduce in a rich context of waterways.

Monte Pelada - Osmate

The Monte Pelada is a pleasant hill, with a moderate elevation of 472 meters, surrounded by greenery. Walking through the woods that cover it, your view occasionally opens onto the lakes below, visible through the trees like small, unexpected glimpses. The route starts from Osmate and gently climbs along the hill, accompanied by chestnut, pine, oak, and birch trees, in a fresh and relaxing environment.

Borromeo Castle, the Museum of Children’s Clothing and the Doll and Toy Museum

Angera’s Borromeo Castle towers majestically over the southern shores of Lake Maggiore from a spur of chalky cliffs. The fortified mediaeval castle is steeped in examples of its long, illustrious history, such as the Hall of Justice with its outstanding series of twelfth-century frescoes, the historical halls and the castle tower that offers breathtaking panoramic views over the lake. Borromeo Castle is also home to the Doll and Toy Museum, the most notable of its kind in Europe.
