Varese, land of events

Starting July 4, 2026 | Gallarate

Gallarate Light Escape

On June 30 at 11:00 a.m., at Palazzo Borghi (Via Verdi 2, Gallarate), the press conference presenting Gallarate Lightscape will take place. The event will unveil the new artistic lighting project that, starting on July 4, will transform the city center into a captivating journey through history, culture, and local identity.

Starting on July 4, for two hours every evening, Gallarate will be transformed into a captivating open-air story, where light becomes the guiding thread of a journey through history, culture, and identity. Gallarate Lightscape, created by light designer Romano Baratta, is a project that uses symbolic colors and scenic lighting to tell the story of the city's different historical eras, from the pre-Celtic period to the present day.

Every street, square, and landmark will be enhanced through symbolic color palettes that evoke places, events, and traditions of the past, bringing new life to the most significant corners of the historic center. More than an artistic installation, the project is also an opportunity to rediscover Gallarate's historical heritage through a contemporary perspective.

Art, memory, and innovation come together in an immersive experience designed for residents and visitors alike, enriched by informational totems that will guide the public in discovering the meaning behind the various lighting installations.

An event that invites everyone to experience the city in a new way, following the light through an inspiring journey that enhances the local heritage and tells, step by step, the story of Gallarate.
