In november 2023, some interesting events will take place in the town of Angera. Here is the programme to get to know the local heritage better.
On the occasion of the Day Against Violence Against Women
On Friday 24 November at around 14:00, the 4th edition of the Wings stop Whistles relay race will be held along the Piazza Garibaldi lakeside, a sporting itinerary in stages on Lake Maggiore with departure from Stresa and arrival in Castelletto Ticino. The initiative is organised by the Courage Foundation, which works on projects co-financed by Erasmus and the European Union Programme.

On Saturday 25 November, the civic library invites to the presentation of the book Madrisorelle, by Raffaella Radice and Mirella Mirri from Busto Arsizio. It is a novel about female emancipation in the 1950s and the history of weaving in the province of Como: four generations of women told by a mother to her daughter through a diary that spans time. Free entrance at 6 pm in Via Dei Mille 5.

On Saturday 25 November, Clorofilla and Le Sinergie invite to the meeting 'Le erbe delle donne' (Women's herbs) at the Council Chamber of the City Hall, via Cavour at 9 pm. This special evening, dedicated to the female universe and to the interventions of natural medicine in favour of psycho-physical and emotional health, will be presented by Dr. Carmela Pappalardo, biologist and owner of the Le Sinergie farm in Angera, and by Sonia Gallazzi, Naturopath, Environmental Hiking Guide, and gatherer of wild herbs.

On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November, the town will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Protezione Civile Angera; on Saturday the base camp will be set up in a special area on the Piazza Garibaldi lakeside meadows and the first exercises will be held. The opening to the public is scheduled for Sunday from 9 a.m. with a visit to the base camp, presentation of equipment, practical demonstration and greetings from the authorities.
There will also be educational areas for children and various islands with the specialisations of the CMPVA (Colonna Mobile Provinciale Varese).

Friday 8 December at 5 p.m. Traditional lighting of the Christmas Tree in the Parish Square and all day from 9 a.m. market with creative craftsmen, hobbyists, small antiques and foodstuffs by Mani Magiche in the heart of the village. Hot chocolate and mulled wine with panettone available.
