During spring 2026, numerous events will take place in Angera, including culture, archaeology, music, the environment, and sports. Here is the program to learn more about the local heritage and experience the city.
From Sunday, May 10 to Sunday, September 2
The Civic Archaeological Museum hosts the exhibition “Angera. Memoirs from the University Archaeological Construction Site”, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the archaeological excavations of Angera.
The exhibition, created in collaboration with the University of Milan, recounts a fundamental period of research on the Roman vicus and the Lower Verbano area through photographs, documents, and original excavation materials.

Tuesday, May 12
At 8:45 pm, the Il Lago Cromatico Festival kicks off at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta with a concert “Between Sacred and Profane” from the Renaissance to the Beatles.
The evening will feature young musicians from the Manzoni High School in Varese. Reservations are already available through Event Brite.
Saturday, May 16
The Bruschera Marsh will be the protagonist of the 2026 edition of BioBlitz Lombardia, the regional event dedicated to citizen science and biodiversity. The meeting is scheduled for 10:00 am in Via Arena.
Sunday, May 17
At 5:30 pm, at the museum, the conference “Volta and His Time: 250 Years Since the Discovery of Flammable Marsh Gas” will take place, dedicated to the scientific context and the impact of Alessandro Volta’s research.
Also on May 17, Angera will once again host The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, the famous international charity motorcycle event that combines style, passion, and solidarity.
Participants will gather from 12:00 pm along the lakeside at Piazza Garibaldi for check-in. The parade is scheduled to depart around 4:00 pm and arrive, at approximately 5:30 PM, at Volandia – Museo del Volo.
At 5:00 pm, at Kapannone dei Libri, there will also be space for music with a violin and cello concert by Rachele Bartoli and Riccardo Binda, included in the program of the Il Lago Cromatico.
From Wednesday 20 to Sunday 24 May
Kur'Art's project “Art on Prescription”, promoted by the Municipality's Social Services, will be presented in the Council Chamber.
The conference will be held on May 20th and 21st, while activities will continue until May 24th with initiatives dedicated to psychophysical well-being through art and cultural participation.
Friday, May 22
Angera will host one of the stages of the GIRO-E, the event parallel to the Giro d'Italia dedicated to e-bikes.
Sunday, May 24
In the hamlet of Capronno, “Culture and Music in the Village” will take place, a popular itinerary through the town's courtyards and spaces with artisans, local producers, historical photographs, book presentations, and concerts.
Sunday, June 14
At 5:30 pm, the museum will host the conference “An Angerese Scientist Alongside Alessandro Volta: Let's Rediscover the Figure of Teresa Ciceri Castiglioni”, dedicated to a female figure of great cultural importance who supported the scientist during his stay in Angera.
Angerese Spring 2026 thus confirms itself as a rich series of events capable of enhancing the history, culture, environment, and identity of the area, offering opportunities for citizens and visitors to meet and participate.
