The summer season on Lake Maggiore and in the province of Varese will once again be lit up by its traditional fireworks displays, among the most eagerly awaited events of the year. From patron saint festivals to major lakeside celebrations, here are the first confirmed dates for 2026. The programme will be updated in the coming weeks as new events are announced.
The season opens in Luino, where on Saturday, June 27 at 11:00 p.m., the sky will light up with the traditional fireworks display held for the celebrations of the Holy Patron Saints SS. Peter and Paul. A deeply felt local event that each year draws thousands of spectators to the lakeside promenade.
On July 12, several events will take place: in Castiglione Olona, as part of the historic Palio dei Castelli, a fireworks display is scheduled, while on the same evening another display will be held in Angera.
One of the highlights of the summer is “Lumina”, the spectacular pyromusical show on Lake Maggiore organized by the Pro Loco Arona. The event will take place on Sunday, August 2 at 10:30 p.m.: fireworks synchronized with music will illuminate the lake and can be enjoyed from both Arona and Angera, creating a truly unique atmosphere.
