On Saturday, June 24, the new Lanza Valley bike and pedestrian path will be inaugurated, a major milestone for the bike&walk project of the Province of Varese, in collaboration with the Lombardy Region and the municipalities of Valmorea, Malnate and Varese, as well as Swiss partners. The Lanza Valley bike and pedestrian path represents a key piece in the interconnected network of bicycle and pedestrian routes throughout the province and offers citizens new opportunities for recreation and physical activity, promoting sustainable tourism.
To celebrate the opening of this new section, a walk is planned starting at the Trot Mills in Malnate. It is an event open to all and participation is free, including the two train rides.
The program for the day is as follows:
- 9 a.m. meeting at the Estensi Gardens
- 10:16 a.m. train to Malnate
- 10:30 a.m. brief stop at the town hall in Malnate
- 10:45 a.m. departure for Mulino del Trotto
- 12 p.m. inauguration of the bike/pedestrian path
- 1 p.m. refreshments
- 2 p.m. departure and walk to Ligurno and then Gaggiolo
- 4:11 p.m. return by train to Varese
