The walk begins in Curiglia, in Val Veddasca, where free parking is available in the village. From here, the route immediately leads into the quiet pedestrian streets, following the red-and-white trail markers that guide hikers along the path. After about half an hour of uphill walking on an asphalt road, you reach Sarona.
Before continuing, it’s worth taking a moment to pause: the view over Val Veddasca and the villages on the opposite slope, with a glimpse of Lake Maggiore, is truly striking.
The route then continues following the signs for Alpone; a walk of about 30 minutes leads to the alpine pasture. A few more steps bring you to the viewpoint, an ideal spot for a relaxing break, where picnic tables and the small church of Madonna della Guardia create a simple and peaceful atmosphere.
