A bold and rewarding hike, perfect for those who enjoy ridge walks and a touch of adventure among rocks and nature.
Starting from Cuasso al Monte or Ganna, the route reaches Alpe Tedesco, a peaceful starting point surrounded by woodland. From here, you follow the 3V trail toward Monte Poncione, the first highlight of the itinerary.
From the summit, the view opens onto a stunning landscape of lakes and mountains: the lakes of Ganna and Ghirla, Lago di Lugano, and the peaks of Monte Campo dei Fiori, Monte Martica, and Monte Orsa.
The trail then continues along the ridge, becoming more dynamic and engaging, before climbing toward Monte Minisfreddo. Its summit is reached via a short equipped section, adding a hint of adrenaline to the experience.
The path carries on along the crest, between rocky passages and forested stretches, until reaching Monte San Bernardo. Here, a statue of the patron saint of mountaineers stands watch, offering breathtaking views over Lago di Lugano, Monte San Giorgio, Monte Generoso, and the Alpi Lepontine and Alpi Retiche.
For those wishing to extend the hike, a scenic loop continues via Monte Rho and Alpe Strologo, adding even more variety and beauty to the journey.
