Mild climate, crystal clear water and mountain views: set off on a journey to discover the villages north of the flowery coast of Maggiore. Get ready to live an experience full of... lake!!

Start your tour from Laveno, the village with a thousand resources. The small lake village, in fact, in addition to hosting the tourist harbour  is also considered an important center of production of ceramics and porcelain: if you pass by here you can not miss a visit to the MIDeC, international museum of ceramic design, that through its permanent collection, documents the history of the ceramic industry of Laveno. In this small village that seems to have come out of a painting, water and sky are separated only by a cable car: get on board, and enjoy the view from the top of Mount Sasso del Ferro, or if you prefer,  furrowed by sailboat or motor, the deep waters, until you reach the archipelago of the Borromean Islands.

Back on land, continue towards Caldè, a small village that thanks to its lakeside promenade and its bright colors, has earned the nickname of "Portofino del Lago Maggiore". The bay of the village with its pebble beach, is dominated from above by a promontory that houses the remains of the Rocca of Caldè - an ancient defensive fort -  and the small church of Santa Veronica: a short walk up here for a view of the lake that will leave you breathless.

Continuing further north, you will meet Porto Valtravaglia, another small village that houses several free beaches, perfect for a relaxing afternoon under the sun. But if basking in the sun just is not for you, thanks to the presence of the nearby Valcuvia and Valtravaglia, you can put on your boots and discover the natural beauty of the area with a hiking trail, accompanied by a nature guide; or spend an afternoon of adrenaline on two wheels in the woods. To follow, why not, deserved rest in hotel overlooking the lake. 

Finish the tour with a visit to the pearl of the major, the town of Luino. Discover the flavors and scents by visiting the typical weekly market, a real party in which the country is transformed by people and colors.
