SPECIAL OPENINGS OF VILLA CAGNOLA'S ART COLLECTION

The Art Collection of Villa Cagnola will be shown to the public on a monthly basis, with special themed tours of the various artistic areas. 

Below are the scheduled appointments!


TAPESTRIES OF VILLA CAGNOLA

The first event will be held on Monday 13th February  at Villa Cagnola. The 21 precious tapestries from the Villa's Art Collection will be shown to the public. By participating in the guided tour, it will be possible to discover the history of the tapestries, from the 15th to the 18th century and come from manufactures all over Europe. Later, the organizers will invite all guests to a Tea-Party at the Villa's restaurant, reviving a tradition from the Cagnola times.  The second appointment is scheduled for Monday 17th April.

Opening: 3.30 p.m.

Participation fee: € 15 (including admission to the Collection and the Tea-Party at the Villa)

Reservations are required.


PORTRAITS OF VILLA CAGNOLA

The second appointment will be held on Monday 20th March , and will include a guided tour of the Collection's multiple portraits. It will be possible to see representations of the Cagnola family as well as other paintings from various centuries. For the occasion, the upper floor of the Villa Antica will be accessible to the public. The event will conclude with the customary Tea-Party at the Villa's restaurant.

PORCELAINS OF VILLA CAGNOLA

The third guided tour, to be held on Thursday, May 25, will provide access to the fine collection of porcelain from 18th-century Italian manufactures collected by Count Carlo Cagnola in the mid-19th century.

With the help of expert guides, it will be possible to learn to recognize the well-known Ginori manufacture, the finest Capodimonte, the Ferdinandea one, and early examples of Venetian production. In addition to these, there will also be majolica with the famous Vecchia Lodi, the fine Clerici from Milan, the Castelli d'Abruzzo, the Castel Durante from Pesaro and numerous others. At the end, participants will be able to distinguish the styles, period and decorating artists. 

The event will conclude with an aperitif at the Villa's gardens.

After the summer break, visits will continue with the European manufactures and ultimately the extraordinary ones from China.
