Da sabato 1° ottobre a domenica 8 gennaio | Eremo di Santa Caterina del Sasso

Il dono dell’acqua

The exhibition proposed by the artist or Alessandro Puccia entitled "The Gift of Water" opens on Saturday 1 October at 11 at the Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso di Leggiuno.

The exhibition is curated by Giulia Pozzi and Erika Chinaglia, collaborators of the Company that manages the reception and ticketing services of the Hermitage and who is increasingly working to organize new initiatives and proposals in the wonderful setting of Santa Caterina.

It is the journey through memory and the possibility of reliving in the present some moments of the past that led Alessandro Puccia, an artist from Varese, born in 1990, to create the photographic journey for the Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso in which he reconstructs two fundamental elements of his own road in the world of art: water and faith.

Through snapshots of water crystals he speaks of life and the path of faith that has always manifested itself and is its symbol through blue gold. Almost a birth to a new life that took place through a gift, as a gift it is existence itself.

The exhibition itinerary develops inside the Hermitage and dialogues with its spaces, entering into a relationship with the devotion and faith that has pervaded it for centuries. The works, exhibited starting from the second room located under the portico of the southern convent, tell and represent the beginning of the artist's story and in particular the need born in him to want to investigate around the element of water and why he started to photograph the crystals.

What happened next tells of a path of reading and understanding an intimate and dreamlike message of purification through water. Water that first becomes the object of study through the reading of the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto, known for his experiments on what he calls the memory of water, a theory according to which a relationship is created between human thoughts and the states of water that , exposed to different stimuli would change its frequency, modifying the structure visible to our eyes through the crystals. It is the reading of his studies that influences Alessandro's life and artistic research

The exhibition is sponsored by the Province of Varese, the Municipality of Leggiuno and the Fai Delegations of Varese and Valcuvia Luino and Verbano Orientale, with the contribution of the Patrimonial Society of the Province of Varese Srl, Selgrafh - graphics and printing, Gesta and Designuovo .

It will be open from 1 October until Sunday 8 January 2023 during the usual opening hours to the public of the Hermitage: until 14 October every day from 9.30 to 19.30 (last admission 18.45); from 15 October to 15 December from Monday to Friday from 1.30pm to 6pm (last admission at 5.15pm), Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 9.30am to 7.30pm (last admission at 6.45pm); from 16 December to 8 January 2023 every day from 9.30 to 19.30 (last admission at 6.45pm).
