Splendid itineraries around the beauties of our territory recognized by the Italian environmental fund.

VILLA AND PANZA COLLECTION: surrounded by a splendid park that extends over 33,000 square meters, Villa Panza overlooks the city of Varese from the Biumo Superiore hill. More than one hundred works by contemporary artists are now exhibited in the halls and large stables, as well as rich furnishings and an important collection of African and pre-Columbian art. The rustic wing of the villa has been completely transformed and houses works by the protagonists of environmental art - Robert Irwin, Maria Nordman and James Turrell - who have designed new installations specifically for these spaces, In adjacent rooms the colors of neon by Dan Flavin they cancel the original shadows, composing new volumes and giving life to three-dimensional paintings in which to move and breathe.

VILLA DELLA PORTA BOZZOLO: born in the 16th century as a country residence, it became a noble representative house and was enlarged with a large Italian-style garden, one of the most majestic and harmonious architectural creations in the green surviving today in Italy. The interiors retain one of the most decorative and sophisticated cycles of eighteenth-century Lombardy, largely attributed to the workshop of the Varese artist Magatti. The main structure of the Villa is flanked by interesting cottages, among which there are the stables, the stables, the granaries and a monumental press. Do not miss the park and the rose garden, in bloom in May. The villa also hosts a café-restaurant and various events in the summer.

TORBA ABBEY: immersed in the green of the Varesotto, at the foot of the archaeological park of Castelseprio, the monumental complex of Torba bears witness to a history of more than a thousand years. Military outpost of the late Roman Empire, subsequently under the domination of the Goths and the Lombards, Torba became a peaceful place of prayer and work for the Benedictine nuns. Today it is a FAI property and, on weekends, it hosts various thematic events such as flower markets and dinners based on typical products.
