Varese: a trip for the taste buds

Varese is distinguished by a rustic and genuine cuisine, but rich in imagination. There are many producers in the area who supply restaurants and farmhouses with local raw materials, to promote a 0 km cuisine based on traditional products such as rice, lake fish, game and polenta.

Ugly and good, polenta and bruscitt, rustisciada, Varese dessert and Luinese cheese are just some of the typical products or dishes of the area that you can taste by choosing your favorite gastronomic tour.

Ever dreamed of soaring over spectacular alpine foothills while admiring lakes and rivers weaving their way through green parks and verdant valleys latticed between the Alps? Or experiencing the thrill of flying by the magnificent Monte Rosa massif? Well, now you can. Gliding in Varese offers all this and more thanks to the expertise and experience of one of the world’s top clubs. The Varese area has a long history of being passionate about flying and successful in all forms of aircraft design and construction.

Rowing on Varese's lakes

Varese’s lakes have produced many champions over the years, and the legendary eights from the IGNIS Rowing Club are a prime example of record-breaking success going back to the 1960s. Since then Varese has continued to turn out first-rate rowers and the sport keeps going from strength to strength: the lake around Schiranna enjoys fantastic weather conditions and is ideal for rowing, which is why teams arrive to train here every month from all over the world.
