A scenic and captivating hike, featuring stunning ridgelines and breathtaking views over the lake.

The route begins at the convenient parking area in Vararo, a charming hamlet of Cittiglio, a tiny village where it’s worth visiting its beautiful rose garden.

Leaving the car behind, you follow the signs until reaching the trail marker for the Pizzoni di Laveno, which leads into the heart of the forest. The path climbs up to Passo Barbè, a panoramic ridge point. Here, a cross and sign mark your arrival at the Pizzoni, at 1,018 meters.

From this natural balcony, the view opens westward onto a dramatic landscape: steep slopes drop toward Lago Maggiore, with striking views over Luino and Maccagno.

Continuing along the ridge, you reach the summit of Monte La Teggia, before descending to Passo del Cuvignone. After a short downhill stretch, a gated road marks the start of the final ascent leading to Monte Nudo, the highest and most panoramic peak in the area.

From the top, the sweeping views reward every step. The return follows the same route back to Vararo, leaving you with lasting memories of an unforgettable hike.
