Campo dei Fiori - Punta di Mezzo - no. 7

Distance: 3 km • Time: 1 ora • Easy

From the heart of Campo dei Fiori, near the arrival point of the historic funicular, the trail immediately immerses visitors in a fascinating atmosphere, crossing a dense fir forest and climbing towards the small panoramic chapel above the Grand Hotel.

A short detour leads to Monte Tre Croci, one of the most captivating viewpoints of the massif, before continuing along the peaceful Via Belvedere through woodland and scenic views over the valley. The route eventually reaches the Magnaghi colony and Pensione Irma, an ideal stopping point and a gateway to further trails across Campo dei Fiori.

Leaving Via Belvedere behind, the trail climbs via a staircase to one of the first panoramic viewpoints along the route, where the view opens up over the Varese Pre-Alps and the entire Alpine range, from the Ossola Alps to the Rhaetian Alps.

The path continues towards the scenic Pratone, a vast green meadow suspended between sky and mountains, from where you reach Punta di Mezzo (1,227 m), the highest peak of Campo dei Fiori. The final ascent is challenging, but the reward is an extraordinary panorama and a unique viewpoint over the surrounding landscape.

From the summit, the trail follows the rocky ridge before descending towards the Military Road of Forte di Orino, connecting with one of the most fascinating historic routes in the massif.
