A captivating loop trail that blends history, nature, and breathtaking views, starting and ending in the charming medieval village of Viconago.
From the village center, the trail climbs toward Alpe Prada, immersing you in peaceful woodland surroundings. Continuing toward Alpe Fora, you encounter the first historical remains: trenches and military structures that tell the story of this area.
As you proceed toward Monte Mezzano, you’ll spot gun emplacements and guard posts, while at Alpe Cognolo the trenches continue to guide your path, adding a unique atmosphere to the hike.
Upon reaching the Chiesa di San Paolo, the view opens onto a wide and stunning panorama stretching from the Valtellina to Switzerland.
Heading south, you arrive at Alpe Paci, where a fork leads to the ascent of Monte La Nave and the nearby observatory—the highlight of the route and a perfect viewpoint over a remarkable landscape.
