The itinerary winds along the lake shore from Cerro di Laveno to Monvalle. It is well-marked with the code VVL-C1 on red and white panels. After skirting the Church of San Defendente, cross the provincial route no. 69 that connects Laveno Mombello to Angera and proceed toward Reno. Cross back over the provincial route to reach the hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso . Frem here you can easily reach Arolo: go down the steps that lead to Lake Maggiore. Take the downhill road toward Monvalle when you leave Arolo to reach the high part of the town. From here, passing through Leggiuno, return to the starting point.
