June 15 at 4:00 PM a guided tour will start from the Pogliaghi House Museum, exploring the residence, workshop, and museum of the Milanese artist who created the door of the Milan Cathedral. The tour will delve into the artistic and religious renewal of the village of Santa Maria del Monte in the 20th century, focusing on Floriano Bodini and Enrico Manfrini, artists close to Mons. Pasquale Macchi, personal secretary to Pope Paul VI.

The event is part of the “Contemporary Sacred Mountain” project, supported by various foundations and local organizations.

Classical Music Concert at Pogliaghi House Museum Sunday

June 23 at 4:30 PM the Pogliaghi House Museum will host the first concert of the year, "The Sound of Summer with the Notes of Tartini, Vivaldi, and Giuliani." The ensemble will feature a string trio and guitar with Paolo Amico (solo guitar), Francesco Postorivo (first violin), Doriano Di Domenico (second violin), and Annamaria Bernadette Cristian (cello).

The concert will be held in the artist's large atelier, where the original plaster model of the central door of the Milan Cathedral is preserved. At 3:00 PM, it will be possible to join a guided tour before the concert.

Funicular Tours to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Al Borducan Hotel

Funicular tours return to celebrate the centenary of the Al Borducan Hotel. Starting from the lower station of the Sacro Monte funicular, participants will reach the village using this early 20th-century transport. The tour will revisit the importance of Sacro Monte as a tourist destination at the beginning of the 20th century.

The visit includes the Liberty staircase, panoramic terraces, and concludes at the Al Borducan Hotel with a tasting of the famous Elixir. The tour will be enriched with readings from guides and visitors of the era.

Theatrical Performance "Antigone. The Torn Thread" Saturday

June 22 at 9:00 PM at the Varese Theatre, the Crennese Theatre Group will present the play "Antigone. The Torn Thread," based on Sophocles' "Antigone." Part of the proceeds will support the restoration of the painting "The Avenue of the Chapels with Brother Aguggiari and Architect Bernascone" from the Baroffio Museum, the only work depicting the two founders of Sacro Monte.

"Between Sacred and Sacred Mountain" Festival The "Between Sacred and Sacred Mountain" festival reaches its 15th edition and will take place in front of the 14th chapel of the Via Sacra. This year's theme is memory, not as nostalgia, but as a tribute to the texts and artists who have marked the history of Italian theater and the festival.

The festival will be inaugurated Thursday, July 4 by Laura Marinoni.
