Due to adverse weather forecasts for the weekend, the “Luci di Natale” hobbyists’ Christmas market in Rasa has been cancelled. The event, which was scheduled for Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November, will therefore not take place, including the cancellation of the market and all activities planned in Rasa.

On Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16, 2025, one of the most anticipated winter events returns: the Christmas market “Luci di Natale” will once again bring life to the charming mountain village of Rasa in Varese, transforming it into a magical little village.

Now in its 25th edition, the event continues to delight both young and old, attracting visitors from across the province and neighboring regions. It’s a special opportunity to experience the enchanting atmosphere of Christmas early, with lights, scents, and quality craftsmanship.

A total of 115 exhibitors from Varese, Lombardy, Piedmont, and Liguria will be present, offering a rich variety of products: artistic crafts, Christmas decorations, felt and wooden creations, home accessories, tailored clothing, and unique gift ideas. Among this year’s highlights are an artisan presenting a new board game and a master weaver demonstrating traditional loom work.

Food and drink stalls will be plentiful, offering roasted chestnuts, mulled wine, fried gnocco (also with Nutella), bruscitt, and many other specialties. For children, a Santa Claus Post Office will be set up where they can drop off their letters.

The market will be open Saturday, November 15, from 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm, and Sunday, November 16, from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm.

A free shuttle service will be available to reach Rasa:

• From the Ippodromo (Piazzale Martiri della Libertà), with hourly departures and intermediate stops.
     - Saturday: first trip at 1:30 pm, last at 6:30 pm; return from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
     - Sunday: outbound from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm; return from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

• From the Motta Rossa parking lot, with a shuttle running throughout the event. Alternatively, visitors can reach Rasa on foot via an easy walking trail.

Visitors can also arrive from Bregazzana by taking part in the “Lanterne erranti” walk organized by the Amici di Bregazzana association: a roughly 5 km route along the trails connecting the two neighborhoods.
