Description

Archeologistics is a social enterprise made up of archaeologists, anthropologists, art historians, tour guides, and museum educators operating in the province of Varese and within numerous monuments and museums.

In particular, it deals with:

  • Educational services and tourism: they create authentic and personalized research and learning itineraries suited to the needs of individuals, schools, or groups. They offer educational and cultural activities for all ages and all requests, also with attention to cognitive and motor disabilities.
  • Design and management of cultural heritage: they manage various monuments and cultural heritage sites in the province of Varese and in the Lake Maggiore area, from ticketing to guided tours, including reception services, space organization, and the development of strategies to make cultural heritage more accessible and enjoyable, such as audio guides and descriptions.
  • Excavation and research: they carry out archaeological excavations on sites and preventive archaeology activities, particularly in the province of Varese. In the anthropological field, the study of human skeletal material from archaeological contexts helps deepen and enrich the information resulting from archaeological excavation sites.

What can you do with the Archeologistics team?
You can visit one of the places where they work and where they promote and narrate the past and present:

  • Santa Caterina del Sasso Hermitage – Leggiuno
  • Casa Museo Lodovico Pogliaghi, Baroffio Museum, and the Crypt of the Sanctuary – Sacro Monte di Varese
  • Monastery of Torba – Gornate Olona
  • Fossil Museum – Besano
  • Villa Della Porta Bozzolo – Casalzuigno

You can also visit the city of Varese, other towns and iconic places along the shores of Lakes Varese and Maggiore, discover the industrial and agricultural history of the villages along the Olona Valley, and do so either on foot or by bicycle.

They also work to make cultural heritage truly accessible thanks to specific training on issues related to cognitive disabilities. This approach allows them to design inclusive experiences, also offering activities in LIS – Italian Sign Language.
