A journey through some of the most fascinating residences and heritage sites of the FAI in the Varese area which, among historic villas, ancient complexes, and art collections, offers the opportunity to create a tailor-made itinerary where Casa Macchi, Villa Della Porta Bozzolo, the Monastery of Torba, and Villa and Panza Collection intertwine in a single experience of culture, beauty, and memory.
Casa Macchi, Villa Della Porta Bozzolo, the Monastery of Torba, and Villa and Panza Collection tell four different ways of living and interpreting the historical and artistic heritage of the Varese region, now preserved and enhanced by FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano.
On one hand, Casa Macchi has preserved intact the atmosphere of a 19th-century bourgeois residence, with original rooms and everyday objects that vividly convey the life of a family through time.
Not far away, Villa Della Porta Bozzolo represents one of the most elegant holiday villas of 18th-century Lombardy, with its theatrical gardens, monumental staircases, and richly decorated interiors that reflect the taste and aristocratic lifestyle of the period.
Nestled in the greenery of the Olona Valley, the Monastery of Torba combines archaeology and spirituality: once a Lombard outpost and later transformed into a monastic complex, it still retains a unique charm suspended between history and nature.
Finally, Villa and Panza Collection offers a unique dialogue between contemporary art and landscape, thanks to its extraordinary collection and spaces harmoniously integrated with the villa’s historic park.
An itinerary through residences, art, and landscapes that tells the cultural identity of the territory through different eras and artistic languages, in a balance of history, nature, and beauty.
