From the village of Bedero Valcuvia, with its charming medieval historic center, the trail winds through meadows and woodlands on the slopes of Monte Martica.
The route climbs gradually through valleys and forest paths, offering, on clear days, glimpses of the mountains of the Upper Verbano area and the Central Alps.
The final ascent leads to the Eastern Summit of Monte Martica (1,032 m / 3,386 ft), home to the Eastern Fort, a former outpost of the Cadorna Line. Here, the effort gives way to wonder: a place rich in history and extraordinary scenery, where nature and memory come together in a single, evocative experience.
