The route begins in the heart of Velate, one of the oldest villages in the Varese area, among historic houses and elegant period villas.
The trail then leads into the countryside, passing through Pian della Croce, Cascina Zambella, and the enchanting Path of the Springs (Sentiero delle Sorgenti), offering an immersion in unspoilt nature.

Winding through valleys, ancient mountain huts, and scenic viewpoints such as Poggio della Corona, the route reveals surprising landscapes and geological curiosities, including the impressive glacial erratic boulder known as Sass Gross. The final descent leads toward Cerro di Caldana and the gateway to Orino, leaving visitors with the feeling of having crossed a land rich in history, nature, and wonder.
