The municipality of Valganna, located north of Varese, includes the towns of Ghirla, Ganna, Boarezzo and Mondonico. The valley extends to the lakes Ceresio and Maggiore and is an ideal tourist destination in every season. In this itinerary, we propose to follow a stretch of the Via Francisca, which crosses the Valganna and connects several points of interest.

An ancient hammer, example of industrial archaeology, located along the route. A place that tells the story of the area’s metallurgical activities.
Ideal for a refreshing break. In summer, it is perfect for a picnic and a swim, while in winter it offers enchanting scenery of ice and snow.
- Third stage: Badia di San Gemolo
A historic abbey that represents an important spiritual and cultural reference point in Valganna. The Badia di San Gemolo is a place of peace and reflection, immersed in the natural beauty of the valley.
