From June to September, FAI properties extend their opening hours to accommodate more people and offer a unique experience: continuing the visit until sunset and beyond to enjoy the special atmosphere of summer evenings, slow weather and special initiatives.


  • Saturday, June 24, 2023


- Summer Solstice Celebration
The evening's program includes a guided tour of the inner rooms of the tower and the austere church. Following this, dinner will be served at 8:30 p.m. in the courtyard courtyard, where guests will be able to spend a pleasant evening surrounded by nature and the thousand-year history of the Monastery.

-Aperitif at Sunset
In the pleasant atmosphere at sunset, a guided tour awaits them to retrace the thousand-year history of soldiers, nuns and peasants, and an aperitif by the in-house restaurant, to be enjoyed in peace in a place of great charm.

-Music at Sunset
On this occasion I Solisti Ambrosiani will play, offering a range of vocal and instrumental pages of yesteryear. The Bene is open from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Bar service available inside from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

-Tales at Sunset
The mysterious symbolism of color is recounted through the Monastery's paintings: from the white of angels' robes to the red of martyrs' robes, from the humility of black to the power of gold. A colorful journey through art, spirituality and beliefs to learn about similarities and differences between medieval and contemporary man.

  • July 21-21, 2023

-Astronomers for a night
During the course of the evening it will be possible to visit the Monastery as the sun sets, enjoy an aperitif and observe the vault of heaven with the expert guidance of astronomers from the G. Schiaparelli Observatory of Campo dei Fiori (Varese). The guided sky observation will begin at 9:15 pm.

- In the garden of Villa Panza - Guided tour at 7 p.m.
A guided tour to discover the wonderful historic garden of Villa Panza, between architecture and botany, in the evocative setting of the summer sunset.
The event is ticketed, reservation required.
The purchase of the ticket for the guided tour also allows access to the Villa for a free visit to the Collection.

- The Garden Tells - Literary Appointment at 8:30 p.m.
With the collaboration of local bookstores, the literary appointment Il Giardino racconta is born: presentations of books, by authors, that investigate the theme of green space and nature.
On July 5, Tiziano Fratus presents "Agreste. Silvario in verse and roots," recently published (Piano B, 2023).
On July 25 Laura Pirovano presents "Shadow Gardens" (Nature Library, 2023), a 360-degree journey into the poetic, horticultural, botanical and design aspects of shadow gardens.
The event is free of charge. 
Attendance at the event alone does not allow access to the Villa and the Collection; a relative ticket must be purchased to visit the Villa.


  • Wednesday, July 12 and Friday, July 21, 2023


- Elena Rivoltini. Performances on stage from 7 to 9 p.m.
Elena Rivoltini, actress, singer and sound artist will offer a performance intervention with live and a cappella performance of vocal pieces creating minimalist sound atmospheres in dialogue with works by Maria Nordman, Meg Webster, Dan Flavin and James Turrell.
The event is ticketed, reservation required.


  • Friday, July 21, 2023

- Andrea Chiodi. Opera on stage at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Starting from the monumental carpinata that, like a perspective telescope, pushes the eye toward the horizon, Andrea Chiodi through the suggestions of literary and poetic passages, will guide the visitor to the observation of the starry sky for which the villa's park, a terrace between earth and sky, offers a perfect vantage point. The tour will conclude with Jene Highstein's work Twelve Part Vertical Pipe Piece.
The event is ticketed, reservation required.


  • Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023


- Aperitivo in musica from 6 to 11 p.m.
The appointment will be an opportunity to experience the garden in the magical atmosphere of sunset in the company of music chosen for the occasion by TuMiTurbi. In addition, it will be possible to discover the permanent collection, site-specific installations in the Villa's cottages and the exhibition "Ex natura. Works from the Panza Collection."
During the evening it will be possible to have an aperitif by Luce restaurant.
Paid event, reservation required.
The entrance fee to the Villa and the concert does not include the aperitif.

- Sunset picnic 
For the occasion, the monumental Italian garden, featuring scenic stone-carved terraces, flower beds and a panoramic belvedere, will become an ideal place for picnics to be enjoyed at sunset.
For those who wish, the "I Rustici" Restaurant inside the Villa offers the possibility of booking a picnic basket for two people.

- Astronomers for a night
Astronomers and non-Astronomers alike will be able to participate in guided sky observation in the scenic Villa Park, peering closely at the moon and planets, projected in real time on a large screen.
Unique will be the evening of Friday, Sept. 15, when, in addition to the guided observation, at 8:30 p.m. it will be possible to participate in the lecture "TO BE DEFINED" by experts from the G.V. Schiaparelli Astronomical Observatory, a small astronomy lecture where it will be possible to compare the sky above the two hemispheres.

The villa will be open from 6 p.m. and will offer the opportunity to reserve a picnic basket (reservation required) at the in-house restaurant "I Rustici," to be enjoyed while waiting for the sun to set.

-Aperitivo in jazz
Casa Macchi opens its doors after closing time to offer its guests the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of the house and garden at sunset while enjoying the famous Caramamma, a typical aperitif liqueur from the town of Morazzone, accompanied by jazz music. 

Musical accompaniment on July 14 will be by Nicola Tacchi on guitar and Maria Torelli on double bass, while August 12 will feature "T'n'T Duo-Dyna Jazz" with Tarcisio Olgiati on sax and Nicola Tacchi on guitar.

The aperitif will be catered by Pasticceria Sara and Mariano of Morazzone: cost €15 to be paid on site.

In case of bad weather the event will be cancelled.
