Sunday, May 11 the oratory of Luino will host the "Health Day", an event promoted by the Red Cross of Luino and Valli, The aim is to raise public awareness of the importance of health prevention through a series of free screenings open to all citizens.

The free initiative, which will take place from 9.00 to 17.00, will offer the possibility of carrying out fundamental checks for well-being and health: measurement of cholesterol, blood glucose and pressure, electrocardiograms, postural checks, Orthopaedic visits and diabetological consultations. Special attention will also be given to the youngest, with a paediatric visit available in the afternoon and a dental check-up available throughout the day.

Besides the Volunteer Nurses of the Red Cross Military Corps, doctors also collaborate in the realization of this day: Franco Compagnoni, Edoardo Duratorre, Paolo Enrico, Giuseppe Citterio, Angelo Ferloni, Claudio Francesconi and Chiara Citterio.

The programme will:
All day: electrocardiograms, postural checks and measurement of cholesterol, blood sugar and pressure. Children’s dental examination.
only from 9 to 12.30: orthopaedic visits and diabetological consultations
only from 14 to 17: pediatric visits

«This day wants to be a concrete opportunity to bring people closer to the health culture in a simple, free and accessible way. Our commitment is to build a healthier and more conscious community, with special attention to the needs of those living in less-served environments. Team work was done for this day between our social and health team», comments Luca Gentilini, president of the Luino e Valli Red Cross.

To underline the continuing value of these years of the initiative is Pierfrancesco Buchi, CRI vice president: «The "Health Day" is part of a screening program that our Red Cross organizes periodically, with particular attention to small mountain municipalities. Bringing prevention to the most peripheral territories is one of our priorities, because health must be a truly accessible right for all, but on Luino there is maximum attention. Our ability to respond to needs is a guarantee of concreteness and efficiency».
