Designed by  A.S.D. Cicli Turri of Gallarate  in  2016,  taking its cue from the Tour of Flanders road race held by professional cyclists in Flanders in Belgium, "the Flanders Varesino of Spring" is a challenging, non-competitive ride through the characteristic villages of the province of Varese on a rough route with the presence of walls, 'muren' in Flemish, made of cobblestones.

This event has a twofold purpose: to make known and rediscover the beauty of the area of the province of Varese and to nurture the spirit of friendship that can arise among lovers of this sport, understood as a moment of aggregation, well-being and health.

A real challenge to oneself is to complete an epic feat to be able to tell one's friends about, a day to be experienced through sweat and dust in the spirit of the great races of Northern Europe.

the Flanders Varesino of Spring"  offrers two routes in which the bikers can try his hand: the first is difficult, with a length of 100 km, 17 walls and a total difference in altitude of 1490 m; the second is less difficult, with a length of 60 km, 10 walls and a difference in altitude of 722 m.

The 2023 edition will take place  on Sunday 2^nd April,  in conjunction with the Ronde Van Vlaanderen, which will be broadcast live on a big screen.

As in the last edition, the start and finish will be in Somma Lombardo at the sports centre in Via Marconi, where a large exhibition area will be set up.
