From May 16 to November 29, 2026, Spazio Luce – Fondazione Sangregorio Giancarlo will host INCONTRI, the inaugural exhibition dedicated to the private collection of Giancarlo Sangregorio.
Curated by Lorella Giudici together with Martina Cortese and with honorary patron Amalia Ercoli Finzi, the exhibition features more than one hundred works preserved for years in the artist’s home-studio.
Created through the restoration of a rural building surrounded by the greenery of the Parco del Ticino, Spazio Luce continues Sangregorio’s vision of a place where art, nature and research can exist in dialogue with one another.
A Journey Through 20th-Century Italian Art: the exhibition explores the artistic world frequented by Giancarlo Sangregorio between the 1950s and 1970s through works by Lucio Fontana, Enrico Baj, Mimmo Rotella, Aldo Mondino, Hsiao Chin, Emilio Scanavino and many other leading figures of contemporary art. Each work represents the sign of a friendship, a collaboration or a meaningful encounter experienced by the artist throughout his career.
More than a simple collection, INCONTRI becomes an emotional and cultural narrative that captures the creative atmosphere of postwar Italian art through memories, relationships and shared artistic experimentation.
