Contaminazioni – Marina Tabacco. Un’artista per un museo

Until 27 February 2022, the new temporary exhibition "Contaminations" will be held at the Castiglioni Museum in the Park of Villa Toeplitz in Varese.

Arts and cultures, geographically distant from each other, are contaminated giving life to a unique path between painting, sculpture and fashion.

The itinerary includes the exhibition of valuable and important African art pieces from the "Ettore Brezzo" and "Gianluigi Nicola" collections. Masks, sculptures and fabrics which, in their forms and their evocative power, inspired the paintings by Marina Tabacco that represent the focal point of the exhibition. The itinerary ends with the high fashion clothes of the stylist Stella Jean who, in the fabrics with which they are made, has in turn taken up the painter's subjects in a unique and original intersection of cultural and stylistic contaminations.

The exhibition tells the story of African art which, through the paintings of the Turin artist Marina Tabacco, becomes part of our culture up to the catwalks of high fashion.
