From difensive fortress to the Benedictine monastery and lastly, farmhouse.

The Torba Monastery  encloses over 1500 years of history within its walls. A guided tour that  will lead to the discovery of the history of the first FAI and World Heritage Site.
In conclusion a tasting of the iconic dessert of Lombardy  the Christmas tradition, the panettone.

• THURSDAY 8^th AND SATURDAY 10^th DECEMBER - A PAINTED CRIB. SPECIAL GUIDED TOUR  BETWEEN CASTELSEPRIO AND TORBA

A wonder opens inside of oratorio nobiliare di S. Maria foris portas, in Castelseprio, ancient castrum overhanging  the Torba Monastery.

You will start from the reading of excerpts from the apocryphal gospels which the images are inspired, you will discover many details about the history of the Holy Family.  Then you will reach the Torba Monastery,  to admire how sacred images change style and colour, always leading back into the living history of early Christianity. The meeting point will be at the archaeological area of Castelseprio, via Castelvecchio 1513. Transfer between Castelseprio and Torba will be by car (5 minutes) with own means of transport. Duration of the visit: 2h30.

• SUNDAY 11^th DECEMBER - NATURE MAKES ITSELF A CRIB. WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN

Leaves, acorns, berries and twigs: together in search of what nature has to offer around Torba, to create an original nativity scene under the banner of sustainability, also with the help of recycled materials. Activity for children 5-9 years old. Duration: 1h30.
