CHRISTMAS IN THE PROVINCE OF VARESE 2023

ANGERA

  • On Saturday 23rd December at 9:00 p.m., there will be a Christmas concert with the Corpo Musicale Angerese Santa Cecilia, the choir Chiara Luce and the choir Santa Cecilia at the parish church Santa Maria Assunta.
  • Until 7 January 2024 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and from 3.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. exhibition opening Angera town of 101 nativity scenes. The main exhibition is at the Soara Fabbrica ex Magnesia in Via Gianna Dal Molin, plus nativities set up in the shop windows of the merchants taking part in the initiative, indicated on the poster and on the tourist site.
    On Sunday 7 January 2024 at 10.30 a.m. the first three classified nativities will be awarded by the Mayor of Angera in the Sala Mostra (via Gianna Dal Molin). For information: cdlatorre@libero.it

ARCUMEGGIA

  • On Thursday 7th December, on the occasion of the patron saint's day, there will be the lighting of the cribs in Arcumeggia.

BESOZZO

  • On Saturday 23rd December at 9:00 p.m., the 'Christmas Gospel Concert' will be held in Via Da Vinci 4.

BIANDRONNO

  • Until Saturday 6th January there will be an exhibition of artistic nativity scenes in the rooms of Villa Borghi. Father Christmas's house will also be set up.
  • On Saturday 23rd December at 9:00 p.m. there will be a concert by the Anemone Choir of Ispra at Villa Borghi.

BUSTO ARSIZIO

  • From Saturday 25th November 2023 to Sunday 7th January 2024 "BA is Christmas". Santa Claus will appear in the city in some magical installations, such as the "Santa Claus Comes From Below" that will peek straight out of the pavement. It will be a Christmas full of shopping, events and lots of attractions, in particular there will be a huge skating rink as well as a tourist train that will connect the most significant points in the center with parking lots and stations, 12 stops are planned to pick up passengers

CADREZZATE CON OSMATE

  • From Monday 25th December 2023 to Sunday 7th January 2024, the traditional thematic moving nativity scene will be set up in the hall under the parish church of St. Margherita.
    The crib will be open at the following times: 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

CASTIGLIONE OLONA

  • Saturday 23rd December at 9:00 p.m. at the Palazzetto Comunale in Via De Gasperi will host the traditional Christmas concert proposed by the Corpo Musicale Santa Cecilia of Castiglione Olona. For this unmissable event, there will also be the participation of the Comapgnia della Gru choir of pianist and conductor Enrico Salvaro. Free entrance.

CAVARIA CON PREMEZZO

  • From Friday 8 December to Sunday 7 January - EXHIBITION OF CRIBS by Michele Visalli with the collaboration of Paola Piccinali at the Church of San Rocco. On 8 December, the inauguration will be held at 11 a.m.
    December openings: 8. 9. 10. 16. 17.23. 30 January Openings: 6. 7. / Opening times: 10 a.m. - 12 noon and 4.30 p.m. - 6.30 p.m.

CUASSO AL MONTE

  • From Friday 8th December to Sunday 14th January 2024 it will be possible to ice skate. A month full of events and guests including Cristiano Militello and il Gabibbo.

DUMENZA

  • Sunday 24th December at 2:30 p.m. Father Christmas will roam the streets. Afterwards, at Piazza Armando Diaz, there will be an exchange of greetings with the Avis Valdumentina.
  • Friday 5th January 2024 at 8:30 p.m. the Epiphany Concert of the Luino City Choir will take place at the Church of Saint Giorgio.
  • Saturday 6th January 2024 at 2:30 p.m. the unmissable Epiphany raffle returns to the Dumenza Parish Centre.

GALLARATE

  • In the centre of the square is a skating rink, you can skate around the illuminated tree.
  • On Thursday 21st December at 9:00 p.m., the Christmas concert of the Orchestra Filarmonia Europea will be held at the Church of Sant'Alessandro in Cascinetta.
  • Saturday 23rd December will be the Christmas concert of the ANA Penna Nera Choir at 9:00 p.m. at the Church of San Francesco.

GORLA MAGGIORE

  • On Sunday 23rd December, there will be a double Christmas concert. The first will take place at 4:00 p.m. with the performance 'A child for us! Alleluia!" by the boys' choir Semplicemente Junior at the Santa Maria Assunta Parish Church.
    The second will be a Christmas concert with soloist Paolo Russo at 9:00 p.m. at the PalaGorla.

LAVENA PONTE TRESA

  • Until Sunday 14th January it will be possible to ice skate in Piazza Sangiorgio

LAVENO

  • Saturday 23rd December at 3.00 p.m. a living nativity scene will be performed at the Menotti and Bassani Residential Centre for the elderly. In the evening, there will be a concert by the Greensleeves Gospel Choir at 9.00 p.m. at the Church of Sts. Philip and James.
  • On Sunday 24th December from 6:00 p.m. Santa Claus will be on the ice rink giving out candy and nice gadgets to all present.
  • Tuesday 26th December at 6.00 p.m. Silent Disco On Ice will be held at the ice rink.
  • Saturday 6th January 2024: a day full of concerts, at 3.00 p.m. there will be a concert by Filarmonica G. Verdi in Piazza dei Caduti, at 4.00 p.m. at the SS. Filippo e Giacomo Church will be followed by a concert by the Piccolo Coro di Valcuvia.
  • Saturday 6th January 2024 at 6.00 p.m. the unmissable Befana bonfire in the lake returns.

LEGGIUNO

  • The Christmas Lights return to the shores of Lake Maggiore, from Saturday 2nd December 2023 to Sunday 7th 2024 more than 600,000 LED lights will illuminate the streets and squares of the village, accompanying visitors on a fairy-tale journey. There will also be markets and food stands with traditional delicacies of the period.

LEGNANO

  • Until Wednesday 31st January 2024, it will be possible to ice skate in the parking area in Via Girardelli.

LUINO AND DISTRICTS

  • Friday 22 December at 21:00 at the Social Theatre there will be the Christmas Concert 'Our Free Singing'.
  • Sunday 24 December at 17:30 at the Porto Vecchio of Luino you can watch the arrival of the Infant Jesus at the port with the SSAV. A procession and Holy Mass will follow. It will conclude with an exchange of greetings and chocolate after the celebration.
  • Saturday 6 January at the Stazione Salone Doganale from 14:00 there will be the event "La Befana a Vapore" with sock delivery and a show for the children.

MERCALLO

  • On Sunday 24th December at 5:00 p.m. in Piazza Balconi there will be mulled wine, chocolate and panettone on the notes of the piva with the Castelletto Ticino band.

OLGIATE OLONA

  • On Friday 22nd December at 4:00 p.m. there will be a living nativity scene.
  • Saturday 6th January 2024 at 6:00 p.m. Befana arrives with a sack full of sweets for everyone.

SAMARATE

  • On Friday 22nd December at 9:00 p.m. at the S.S. Trinità Church, the Samaratese Philharmonic Society 'Banda Cittadina' will perform the traditional Christmas concert.

SESTO CALENDE

  • On Sunday 24th December at 5:00 p.m. there will be the 'landing of Father Christmas' to the notes of the Giovanni Colombo Musical Corps, accompanied by the girls of the Dragon Boat in Pink.

SOLBIATE ARNO

  • The Corale Arnatese will perform on Saturday 23rd December at 8:45 p.m. in the parish church of Solbiate Arno for the traditional Christmas concert. Accompanying the choir will be the "Coro voci bianche" and the "Coro musica et ludus". Free entrance.

VERGIATE

  • In Sesona until Sunday 7th January 2024, it will be possible to visit the illuminated nativity scene made of 300 painted silhouettes.

VOLTORRE

  • From Friday 8th December 2023 to Sunday 7th January 2024 at the Voltorre Cloister there will be the 'Exhibition of Nativity Scenes'.

TRADATE

  • On Saturday 23 December at 9:00 p.m., the Gala Concert of the Tradate City Music Corps entitled  'Notes in Rhyme, Verses in Harmony' returns to the hall of Villa Truffini. Admission is free.

TAINO

  • Throughout the Christmas period, it will be possible to visit the 'Land of Cribs', many representations of the nativity throughout the country.
  • On Friday 22nd December at 9:00 p.m. there will be a gospel concert by the Compagnia della Gru at the Centro Bielli
