The Church of St. Veronica is located in Caldé and preserves a 15th-century fresco cycle that represents the only available terminus ante quem.

It has not been possible to establish a date range for the construction of the church with certainty, but thanks to the analysis of the masonry and the development of the apse, an early construction phase between the 14th and 15th centuries can be established.

As the popular place name reveals, the church had a certain relationship with the complex quarrying system that took place at the foot of the same rock, towards the lake, where for centuries a precious lime, also used in the construction of Milan Cathedral, was extracted.
