Valganna - Monte Martica

The mount Martica dominates the western slope of the Valganna, with the remains of discovered artillery stakes, built within the Northern Frontier. The route starts from the clearing beside the SS233 where it is possible to park ( Saint Gemolo farmhouse) following the signs for the now abandoned Valvassera Mine. The path proceeds up to a picnic area located a few meters from the river, adventurous people can discover the little-known Valvassera Falls, reachable only by a short walk in the river bed.

Monte Campo dei Fiori

To reach Pensione Irma restaurant car park you need to follow the road signs for the Schiapparelli Astronomical Observatory, you’ll find a large parking lot at the end of the road.

The route starts from the stand in the direction of the Astronomical Observatory going up the rocky staircase and continuing in the direction of the ridge. The trail then changes to the north side of the path and proceeds along the hillside along path n.7 under the top of the observatory, also known as Punta Paradiso.

Monte San Giorgio

The route starts from Porto Ceresio, going along the board path to reach the hamlet of Cà del Monte, just above this village there is a tabernacle where the Swiss signpost is on the left. Following the directions and crossing into Switzerland, after passing the town of Serpiano, you begin to go up until you find Sant'Umberto, located in the Cassina area. At this point, taking a final climb, you reach the summit of Monte San Giorgio.
