The Team Newsciclismo, well-known in the province of Varese, is organizing the first edition of the Randonnée Il Faro on July 14th. Under the presidency of Cristiano Fumagalli, a former professional and current mechanic for Bardiani, the event will start at 7:00 AM at Cascina Marianin in Arcisate, where race packets will be distributed. The first 100 registrants will also receive ASSOS socks. There will be stalls offering local products such as cheeses, apples, eggs, prosecco, and ice cream.

The start will follow a French format between 8:00 and 8:45 AM, with two routes: a long one of 116 km and a shorter one of 76 km, both designed around the Seven Lakes of the province of Varese. The proceeds will be donated to the Fondazione Giacomo Ascoli and the Arcobaleno di Nichi for the Il Faro project, which provides accommodation for the families of children with cancer.

Vice President Mirko Pinton reported positive feedback and announced the possibility of adding a 40 km gravel route. Registration, at a cost of €20, can also be done at Bar Charlie in Bisuschio, "In Fuga" by Luca Chirico in Porto Ceresio, and Cicli Ambrosini in Varese.

There will be two refreshment points along the route, in collaboration with La Piccola Fattoria and Azienda Agricola Moscheri & Delmolino. At the end of the day, there will be a pasta party at Cascina Marianin. The charity event is not a competitive race but an opportunity for conviviality and sharing.

Among the participants will be former professionals such as Daniele Nardello, Luca Chirico, and Antonio Santaromita, as well as former MotoGP rider Marco Melandri. Event sponsors include Mapei, Nordica, Artes, HSA Cosmetics, and All4Cycling, with prizes such as two weekends offered by Casa Charlie. Stefano Garzelli has helped promote the event.
