A dialogue on the origins of the European Union and the current challenges of continental integration is at the center of the public meeting entitled "Ventotene: the roots of the future", scheduled for Saturday 24 May at 17 at the Library of Induno Olona.

The initiative, promoted by the Circle "Raffaele Marcolli" of the Democratic Party of Induno Olona, aims to reflect on the current importance of the Manifesto of Ventotene, founding document of European federalism, and its significance in today’s Europe, New tensions, but also opportunities for relaunch.

The meeting will be addressed by Renata Ballerio, secretary of the PD club of Induno Olona, who will open the work; Pier Virgilio Dastoli, president of the European Movement Italy, in online connection. Dastoli, a reference figure in the debate on Europe, will bear direct witness to the role of the Ventotene Manifesto in the construction of the Union.  Giulio Saputo, Deputy Secretary General of the European Movement, also in remote connection, will offer an updated view on European policies and the prospects for strengthening continental unity.  Francesco Maresca, representing the "Luigi Zanzi" section of the European Federalist Movement of Varese, will speak in presence to outline the activities and the instances of the MFE on the territory.

Silvia Lippi from the PD Circle of Induno Olona will coordinate the debate, guiding the speeches and encouraging discussion between the public and the guests.
