TWO EXHIBITIONS FOR TWO IMPORTANT ANNIVERSARIES

A unique event, which will show rare works of particular artistic interest conceived by Giorgio Spertini, Piero Portaluppi, Guido Andloviz, Angelo Biancini and Antonia Campi, some of the most valid artists who have collaborated with the S.C.I. The two exhibitions will feature a broad time frame: ceramic forms and pictorial decorations from the late nineteenth century, the Floral period, Art Deco and the informal period will be present.
To create an educational path particularly suitable for schools, the exhibition also features some plaster figures (or scagliola).

Critics have always been particularly favorable to Laveno ceramics for the artistic quality, as well as for the validity of the materials used. The great commercial success and the favor expressed at the time by the trade press, as well as the significant current interest in collecting, confirm the high quality and artistic excellence of these artifacts.

A result achieved thanks to all the workers, workers, technicians and managers of the factories operating in Laveno (SCI, Revelli, Verbano) who, with their continuous research, experiments and studies have made it possible to create ceramic works of rare beauty, both in form and in decoration, in the 150 years of continuous activity. And it is to them that the exhibition pays special thanks.

These two exhibitions also bring a special dedication to volunteers, to lenders of works, to enthusiasts and to all those who have collaborated with MIDeC in these fruitful years of activity.

  • HAPPY MIDeC ANNIVERSARY! - MIDeC - International Ceramic Design Museum turns 50

On the occasion of the fiftieth year of its foundation, the municipal administration of Laveno Mombello - through the Department of Culture - proposes an exhibition of 18 significant and rare works that illustrate the great artistic history of Laveno ceramics, from the end of the 19th century to second after war.

  • ANTONIA CAMPI - The exposure doubles

A second room in honor of the artist Antonia Campi, commissioned by the Municipality of Laveno Mombello, for the hundredth anniversary of his birth. Thanks to a group of enthusiasts and collectors, over 30 rare works will be exhibited or shown to the public for the first time.

The two exhibitions are the result of the effective collaboration between the public and the private sector: the Municipality of Laveno and some passionate collectors.

The exhibitions are curated by Enrico Brugnoni and Marco Lisé and will remain on display from 13 November 2021 to 29 May 2022.

With the occasion of these two exhibitions, MIDeC, the International Ceramic Design Museum, changes its opening hours. It will be open every day and all year round.

  • Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday from 10 to 12.30
  • Friday from 10 to 12.30 and from 14 to 17
  • Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm

The exhibition and entrance to the museum will take place in compliance with the anti Covid-19 protocol in force during the exhibition period.
