On Saturday 2nd March and Saturday 16th November from 2.30 p.m , you can discover the late antique and Longobard culture in the area of today's Olona Valley, thanks to a guided tour between the archaeological site of Castelseprio and the monastery of Torba, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2011.
The guided tour will start from Castelseprio Archeological site, where Goths, Longobards and Carolingians left traces of their presence, making it the legal-military centre of a large territory.
Then it will possible to visit the noble oratory of Santa Maria Foris Portas, that hosts a cycle of frescoes counted among the greatest early medieval pictorial masterpieces in Europe.
The visit will finish at the Torba Abbey, whose tower was one of the defensive elements of the complex.
MEETING POINT: Via Castelvecchio 1513 - Castelseprio. Transport to Torba is by own means and takes about five minutes by car.
