The No. 11 trail starts from the corner of Via Sacconaghi and Via Piave (S.S. 394).

The route then climbs Via Sacconaghi and passes through an area called Vigne, which features the classic ledges or terraces that were built to manage the land. Follow the tarmacked road up the hill to the hamlet of Chignolo (which was once called Cugnolo) at 486 metres (1,595 ft) above sea level. 

From Brinzio, the trail immediately immerses you in the peaceful atmosphere of the valley, skirting the Intrino stream and, with a short detour, offering a glimpse of the enchanting Lake Brinzio. From here, the route winds through woodlands and meadows, gently climbing towards the Motta Rossa Pass.

The route begins in the heart of Velate, one of the oldest villages in the Varese area, among historic houses and elegant period villas.
The trail then leads into the countryside, passing through Pian della Croce, Cascina Zambella, and the enchanting Path of the Springs (Sentiero delle Sorgenti), offering an immersion in unspoilt nature.
