Lake Maggiore, Lake Varese and the other lakes

With so many lakes dotted across the Province of Varese it is no wonder the area offers unlimited ways to spend marvellous weekends on Lake Varese, Lake Lugano and the appropriately named “Costa Fiorita” (coast in bloom) on Lake Maggiore.
The breathtaking vistas of Lake Maggiore and Lake Varese have even caught the imagination of celebrated writers, such as Piero Chiara and Stendhal who wrote, "What a magnificent sight! As the sun set you could see seven lakes. Believe me, you can travel the whole of France and Germany, but you will never experience anything like that."
Visitors actually have ten expanses of water to choose from in the Province of Varese, including Lake Maggiore, Lake Varese, Lake Lugano (or Ceresio as it is also known), Lakes Ganna and Ghirla, and Lakes Monate and Comabbio.
