From 15 July to September 2022, at Villa Mirabello in Varese, you will be able to discover the exhibition 'The civilization of stilts, a great tribute to Isolino Virginia, which this year celebrates ten years since its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Interactive installations and new technologies will be placed to make the underwater environment visible, environments and lifestyles will be reconstructed, allowing you to experience the daily life of 7,000 years ago in these places.

Villa Mirabello will therefore host two rooms dedicated to the archaeological site:

• the Paleoenvironment Room: it will present the environment that characterized the Varese area during the Neolithic up to the end of the Bronze Age
• the Hall of the Plow: will exhibit a reconstruction of a Bronze Age plow, with an illustration of the subsistence activities that allowed the inhabitants of the time to live.

The project tends to enhance a historical cultural wealth present in the territory. Among the biggest supporters, in addition to the municipal administration, there is the A2A company, which has embraced the project by proposing itself as a sponsor.

Guided tours of the exhibition organized by Archeologistics for children and schools will take place

The methods of historical and archaeological research, the scientific disciplines involved, the discovery of the evolutionary path of man are the great themes that will open to the eyes of visitors, adults and children.
