The MA*GA Museum in Gallarate is set to host two wonderful exhibitions from Sunday, July 16.
From July 16 to August 31, GianMarco Porru presents a series of photographic works, created by drawing inspiration from the cultures and mythologies of the Mediterranean. In his works there is a constant transition between past and present and between folk traditions and contemporary visual culture. The museum will also host an environmental installation, project room dedicated to the artist's latest research realized through a performance workshop.
From July 16 to October 22, for the first time the museum will dedicate the exhibition of its collection to photographic languages, including works by Armin Linke, Bruno di Bello and Paola di Bello. A rearrangement project that was created to present the new acquisitions obtained thanks to PAC2021 - Plan for Contemporary Art and Photography Strategy 2022. The research and exhibition project allows the public to see for the first time in its entirety, the collection of works related to the photographic languages of MA*GA, in which the new acquisitions fit organically.
The exhibition is divided into three sections that analyze different attitudes and methodologies of working around the image and photographic languages:
