Varese, land of events

Sunday 14 November and 5 December 2021 | Salone Estense, Varese

Pomeriggi Teatrali in Varese

The 16th edition of “Pomeriggi Teatrali” kicks off in Varese, it will take place for the first time in its history at the Salone Estense.

Two appointments are scheduled, Sunday 14 November and Sunday 5 December:

  • The Franzato Theater will be staged on November 14th with “Beware of avalanches!”, starting at 5.00 pm. It is a play dedicated to the playwright Jean Tardieu. The show is composed of several unique acts interpreted by the Adult and Teen Groups of the Franzato Theater Academy, in a crescendo of fun, irony, grotesque and paradoxes, which combines the amazement and wonder of scenic creation with its brilliant performers, to the greatest techniques, styles and poetics of contemporary theater. The spectators will participate in a delusional reflection on languages and their forms of representation: from poetic theater, to the dramaturgy of the grotesque, from the search for the dream world to the reconstruction of the obsessive ghosts of contemporary society.
  • It continues on Sunday 5 December, again at 5.00 pm, with the Franzato and Solevoci Theater who will bring the “Sacro Universo” stage to the stage. The themes of the show are creation, nativity, motherhood, woman and the relationship with society, with eight stage readings that alternate with music and songs. The dramaturgical writing of Marco Rodio is inspired by the book "In the name of the mother" by Erri De Luca, while the theatrical direction is by Paolo Franzato. The show sees musical advice by Fausto Caravati, director of the Solevoci choir.

The consolidated show review organized by Endas Varese, created with the artistic direction of Paolo Franzato.

The initiative is sponsored by Comune di Varese and by Fondazione Comunitaria del Varesotto.
