Varese, land of events

Summer 2026 | Varese and its surroundings

The FAI summer evenings

The FAI summer evenings return to brighten the Varese area with a calendar of evening events that bring together beauty, culture, and nature, turning some of the most enchanting places in the region into settings to be experienced at sunset or under the stars.

Promoted by the FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano, the series invites visitors to rediscover Italy’s historic heritage in a more intimate and evocative atmosphere, when the light softens and places seem to come alive with a different kind of magic.

It all begins on June 20 at the Monastery of Torba with the Midsummer Solstice Festival, a symbolic event celebrating the arrival of the brightest season of the year in a setting rich in history and silence. At the Monastery, on July 17 and 18, the “Astronomers for a Night” evenings return, offering the chance to observe the summer sky through stories and stargazing.

At Villa della Porta Bozzolo, time seems to slow down: sunset guided tours (from June 20 to August 1) and evening picnics (from July 4 to August 29) invite visitors to enjoy the landscape at a relaxed pace, among historic gardens and golden horizons. Here too, the sky takes center stage with “Astronomers for a Night,” from August 8 to September 5.

At Casa Macchi, evenings come alive with music and conviviality through themed aperitifs: from opera to jazz, swing to vintage, and even courtyard gatherings, each event becomes a small journey through different and surprising atmospheres.

A summer not just to be seen, but to be lived slowly, among stories, music, and starry skies.
