FAI Events

In September and October 2021, the Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI), proposes a series of events dedicated to culture, art and nature ... all this in Varese (province).


Proposed events:

Villa Della Porta Bozzolo

  • Sunday 26 September at 2:30 pm and 4.00 pm: creative workshop "A che pensi?" - Reading is suitable for different ages, because it is based on the use of very simple and accurate graphic images, and at the same time allows an approach to the history of the Villa thanks to the inclusion of new characters between the pages of the book. The reading will be enriched by a walk through the rooms of the Villa.

  • Sunday 3 October: "I giochi di un tempo" - An afternoon to be spent as it once was: outdoors, in the name of creativity and sharing, away from TV and video games.

Hours: Laboratory slot - 10:00 am / 11:00 am / 12:00 am / 2:00 pm / 3:00 pm / 4:00 pm / 5:00 pm

  • Sunday 3 October: special autumn guided tours to discover the agricultural traditions and rural vocation of the Villa. At the end of the tour, visitors can enjoy the first roasted chestnuts and a glass of mulled wine in the spectacular formal garden, made even more suggestive by the typical autumn colors. At the internal restaurant I Rustici it will be possible to book a picnic basket or a snack.

  • Sunday 10 October at 2.30 pm and 4.00 pm: a sweet journey into the world of bees. The Villa comes alive with an event for young and old dedicated to the fascinating world of bees. An opportunity to discover, in the company of an expert beekeeper, the fundamental role that bees have for the ecosystem and how important they are not only for nature but also for man.

Monastero di Torba:

  • Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 September will host the first edition of "Herbarium", an event dedicated to medicinal plants. A theme very consistent with the history of the place and with the activities related to the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic herbs that have taken place here for centuries, which in the two days will be told to the public thanks to exceptional guided tours, excursions and thematic and artistic workshops for adults and children:

 

Saturday 25 September: at 11.00 am and 4.00 pm, it will be possible to get to know the monastery through special itineraries focused on the medieval and peasant era (visits will also be offered on Sundays at 11.00 am, 2.30 pm and 4.00 pm). At 11.00 am Sabrina Melino, chemist and drug technologist, will talk about the figure of Hildegard of Bingen. At 2.00 pm the botanical watercolor workshop and at 2.30 pm the little ones (children aged 6 to 11) will be able to participate in the herbalist's laboratory and try their hand at making a natural preparation.

- Sunday 26 September: at 10.00 am a botanical walk with the environmental hiking guide Antea Franceschin; at 2.30 pm again the guide will take care of the "Erbari" workshop, aimed at illustrating the most ancient art of botanical drawing and miniatures and at experimenting with the activity of molding leaves.

During the two days there will be: "Le Officinali" and "Lavanda Cascina Gelosia" farm, with the possibility of buying their products.

  • Sunday 7 November at 2.30 pm: guided tour to learn about the profession of the anthropologist, between the history and the excavations of the Monastery. An unmissable appointment to discover the methods of anthropological research, but also anecdotes and curiosities that emerged from the Torba burials.
