Varese, land of experiences

CIVICO MUSEO PARISI VALLE

The Civico Museo Parisi Valle, located in Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca,on the Lombard shore of Lake Maggiore, was founded in 1977 and is one of the few museums to have sprung up in post-war Italy. The institution of the museum was promoted by Giuseppe Vittorio Parisi, an artist born in Maccagno in 1915, who loved the lake and its beauty. Parisi, in agreement with his wife Wanda Valle, donated his rich collection of works of art, which became the museum's permanent exhibition, focusing on his wide-ranging production that also gives space to Italian art of our century thanks to the numerous exchanges that the artist had with his colleagues.

Today, the Civico Museo is an important centre of modern and contemporary art, hosting exhibitions and cultural and thematic events.
