From Piero Chiara to Alessandro Manzoni
Piero Chiara and Alessandro Manzoni are the two most important representatives of the literature born and grown around the lakes.
We will run again through the lives and works of these characters, going through places that hosted also other great writers and Nobel prize winners, such as Stendhal, Dario Fò and Cattaneo.
From the shore of Luino, in the northern part of the Lake Maggiore, we will travel towards Lecco: from the routes of Chiara to the routes of Manzoni. History and culture told and sung by local storytellers will make you relive the greatness of these writers and will let you discover how strong and sharp the leaved mark is.
Programme (example)
1° day: arrival in Varese and transfer to hotel, time at disposal, dinner and overnight
2° day: breakfast at hotel, visit to the Museum of Piero Chiara, first approach with the author through his pieces and written thoughts. Transfer to Luino and guided visit to all the main places beloved by the author: ‘Clerici’ bar, the historical station, the promenade along the lake, different typical ‘trattoria’. Transfer to Lecco, arrival at hotel, dinner and overnight.
3° day: breakfast at hotel, guided tour to Manzoni’s places: S. Cristoforo Church, “Addio ai Monti” point, the fisherman village of Pescarenico and Villa Manzoni Museum. Lunch in Pescate; in the afternoon, visit at the Innominato Castle, an amazing panoramic point. Transfer to Lecco and free time to walk in the historical city centre.
